Early in the morning you’ll be picked up in Delhi and begin your full-day excursion with a drive to Jaipur, covering the 265-kilometer distance in 4 to 5 hours.
Your first destination will be the Amber Fort, the city’s top attraction, built by Raja Man Singh and later completed by Sawai Jai Singh in the 18th century. Ride up to the fort on elephant back and take in the panoramic views of Jaipur city from the site. After your tour of the Amber Fort, you’ll be taking a break to enjoy the buffet lunch.
Soon after lunch you’ll be taken a short drive to Jantar Mantar Observatory, another example of the architectural work by Sawai Jai Singh. You’ll also have a brief tour of the City Palace, a famous landmark built by the Kachchwa Rajput rulers of Jaipur. Parts of the Palace have been converted into a museum, where you’ll see a collection of rare manuscripts, weapons, carpets, and costumes of the Mughal Emperor. Later in the afternoon you’ll visit Lakshmi Narayan Temple, which is situated near Moti Dungri Fort. The Temple, which is an outstanding example of the modern approach to ancient Hindu temple architecture, features images of Lord Vishnu and Goddess Lakshmi.
The last site you’ll visit before heading back to Delhi is the Hawa Mahal Palace, one of the most popular attractions in Jaipur.
